The St. Gemma Hospital is a project of the Congregation of St. Gemma Sisters of Dodoma under the Jurisdiction of the Dodoma Catholic Diocese.
This medical firm was started in 2004 as a health centre with 72 beds for patients. It was financed by the “Confrenzo Episcopale Italiana” -“CEI”. Presently the St. Gemma Health centre has been upgraded to a status of a District designated Hospital with 106 beds for patients with full function of maternity ward, theatre, laboratory, Radiology ( ultra sound and ultrasornograph, X-ray and Mammography ) which is the only department in the region, Dental clinic, general medicine, Dermatology department, RCH ( Reproduction Care Health, Mother and Child ) and CTC ( Care and Treatment Center ).
The Hospital is a result of many years efforts endured to give health care services offered by the Congregation of St. Gemma Sisters in various parts of Tanzania mainly Dodoma region. The St. Gemma sisters (Diocesan) are managers through the Superior General sharing the act of love for God through giving medical services to the suffering people enhancing them to live hopefully and as well peacefully.
